Natural Materials, Lots of Color
A family kitchen refreshed with a blue island, herringbone marble, and timeless white shaker cabinetry.
A busy Coral Springs family didn't need a whole new kitchen — they needed their kitchen to feel like theirs again. We kept the layout, refaced every cabinet in warm white shaker, added a slate-blue island that anchors the room, and pulled the whole thing together with a hand-laid herringbone marble backsplash.
The Challenge
The cabinets were structurally sound but dated. The family loved how the space worked but wanted it brighter, more colorful, and capable of hiding the chaos of three kids and a dog.
Our Approach
Cabinet refacing (instead of replacement) kept the budget low and the timeline short. We added pullout organization, a slate-blue paint treatment on the island to break up the white, and specified a herringbone marble backsplash that bounces natural light around the room.
The Result
A kitchen that reads more expensive than it cost, with every inch optimized for a family that actually cooks. And because it was a refacing job, they were back in their kitchen in under six weeks — not six months.

Designer's note
“The goal wasn't to make this look like someone else's kitchen. It was to make it feel more like their kitchen — one that matched the family living in it.”
